Abstract
Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is a global agreement addressing all aspects of biological diversity: genetic resources, species, and ecosystems. It entered into force in December 1993 with the main objectives of conservation of natural environment and biological diversity, sustainable use of the components of biological diversity and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources.
