Abstract
The Aleut International Association (AIA) was formed to protect the natural resources and the environment of the region surrounding the Aleut homelands, which is threatened today by the impact of the Russian economy, pollution, climate change and the commercial fishing fleets of several nations. AIA is an Arctic Council Permanent Participant.
