Abstract

The Ministers of the Arctic States—Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Norway and the United States of America— originally adopted the Guidelines at the Fourth Ministerial Conference on the Protection of the Arctic Environment, 11-12 June, 1997 in Alta, Norway by declaring: “We receive with appreciation…the “Arctic Offshore Oil and Gas Guidelines” developed under AEPS, and agree that these Guidelines be applied.” This is the result.
